How to Edit Your NSMTA Website Teacher Profile

The September Pre-Meeting will feature a step-by-step tutorial for NSMTA members to learn how they can edit their teacher profile on NSMTA.org. The new “Find a Teacher” feature on our website is a great resource for teachers to get more students and grow their studios. This Pre-Meeting will be the perfect opportunity to learn how to use this feature, and will be a great time to ask any questions that you might have regarding using our new website.

Dr. Marcia Bosits
Sight Reading Essentials for Developing Piano Students

We piano teachers take pride in teaching our beginners to read music.  Method books provide guidance and drills to help our students become secure readers in their early years of lessons.  However, as their repertoire becomes longer and more challenging, we often sacrifice work on other skills to get that music ready for performance.  We know that lack of reading fluency leads to frustration in the intermediate years and really limits our students’ ability to interact musically with their peers.  This session will outline practical strategies, materials, and activities to reinvigorate the reading process for both younger and adult students.
