Biography

Betty Benton, Nationally Certified Teacher of Music,  teaches piano to children and adults. In addition to teaching Betty is Co-President of the Lake Forest Symphony Guild which is the volunteer organization assisting the Lake Forest Symphony. She has been President of the North Shore Music Teachers Association as well as Member of the Year of NSMTA.  She has a Masters Degree in Music from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Betty and her husband, baritone, performed for ten years at retirement homes and other facilities in the Lake County area. She was a youth choir director for thirty years. She also plays bells for church and is a member of a recorder ensemble.

Mrs. Benton was a classroom teacher in the public schools for quite a few years and a classroom music teacher for the Lower School of Lake Forest Country Day School for seventeen years. She has taught Suzuki piano and is currently giving private piano lessons in her studio in Lake Bluff.   She is noted for her patience in working with young children.
